The Fanfare Brass Ensemble has presented concert hall quality classical and popular music to the New England area since 2008. The Fanfare Ensemble consists of top musicians from Western Massachusetts, and consistently performs moving and inspiring music to a high standard. Its musical repertoire includes some of the most beloved pieces from the 16th century to the present. The ensemble’s music covers many styles including classical, jazz and light popular.

Some of the musical pieces you may hear include “Tribute to Duke Ellington, Rainy Day, Noble of the Mystic Shrine, Sarabande, Glenn Miller Medley, Hungarian March, Sound of Music, William Tell Overture, West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, Stars and Stripes, American the Beautiful” and more!

St. Paul’s Church of Palmer, the host for the afternoon’s concert, is renown for sponsoring musical events in the community over the years, including Blue Grass, Hand Bell, Pop, and Classical . One of the church’s earliest concerts featured the music of John Phillip Sousa and others in 1895, and recorded live on Mr. J.A. Holt’s Phonograph! According to Rev. Steven Sousa of St. Paul’s “The church’s grand style baroque sanctuary has astounding acoustics, as it was built before the age of electricity and sound amplification. Such 19thcentury church sanctuaries are highly favored by acoustic instrumentalists for their performances”.

The Fanfare Brass Ensemble program is supported in part by a grant from the Palmer Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. The support of the Palmer Cultural Council allows the concert to be provided without cost to all attending.
